In Smarano a panoramic path in the woods starts from Merlonga, offering a panoramic view on the Coredo Lakes (see picture) and on St. Romedio's sanctuary, which you can reach from a branch of the path.
Fishing is allowed at the Coredo Lakes.
From the Predaia plateau a path will take you to the Corno di Tres, a peak where you will enjoy a panoramic view of the whole valley.
In Fondo a path crosses the Rio Sass canyon to the wonderful Smeraldo Lake. You can enjoy long and relaxing walks in the nearby Pradiei. In the village you can admire one of the only two water clocks in Italy.
A guided tour of the Rio Sass canyon is highly recommended.
From Fondo you can reach the peak of mount Macaion and admire a great view of Bolzano and the Adige valley.
